The 2018 Infinity Q70 is practically around the corner, and yet we know next to nothing about it, at least not for sure. Here is what we’ve got.
Date of Release
The release date is most likely late 2017 or early 2018, but don’t hold us on that.
Price for 2018 Infiniti Q70
The price tag should start off at $50,000 and go up, based on the equipment level.
Unfortunately, we haven’t heard of that many changes to the 2018 Infinity Q70’s exterior, but there are some things that are bound to be upgraded – such as the new lamps both up front and in the rear, complete with LED technology, of course.
The double-arch grille is also a fine addition, and the dimensions are likely going to remain unchanged. Otherwise, large wheels, lots of chrome and several different trim packages are all we’ve heard of so far.
On the inside, the new Q70 is expected to pamper to the driver more than ever, and lots of fine leather and complex stitches are a fine start.
It appears as though people over at Infinity are really putting all they’ve got into interior design as of late, and I for one wholeheartedly approve this. There are few companies that pay as much attention to feedback as these guys do.
This is why Q70 is going to have more legroom than any vehicle in its class, with the doors that are specifically designed to allow effortless entry and exit.
In fact, now owners don’t even have to close their own doors, with a new auto-close feature being the norm. Apart from that, there are heated seats, personal reading lights and a bunch of other features.
To further their goals set at maximum comfort, there is better insulation and a different wheel design, meaning the driving experience will be as quiet and smooth as it gets.
The Active Noise Canceling system is absolutely amazing, and if you like things loud, put the Bose Studio Surround stereo system with 16 (yes, 16!) speakers to the test. This may not be the prettiest vehicle in the world, but it is hard to imagine the one I’d rather be in.
Infiniti Q70 Engine
The engine of the 2018 Infinity Q70 is still a mystery, despite all the rumors surrounding it. The weakest, old 3.7 L V6 is probably going to receive a few upgrades of its own.
The 340 hp should now be attainable, although at 7,000 rpm. The best torque should be around 5,300 rpm and it could easily reach 275 lb-ft. The acceleration was decent before, but with a few tweaks, there is no reason why the new Q70 couldn’t accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 6 seconds.
The top speed should be around 160 mph. The transmission is most likely going to be a 7-speed automatic, like with the rest of the Infinity lineup.
The other engines are possible, but we have yet to find out about their specs or even confirm the wild rumors that aren’t worth mentioning at this point.
