The latest and sudden piece of information just fell into our lap: Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has just announced that a new product is due to be unveiled on October 17th. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way of knowing what that product might be, but there have been rumors that this just might be the coveted and long awaited Tesla Model Y SUV.
People have a good basis for this assumption, as the Model Y has been rumored to be in the making for quite a while, and yet we know literally next to nothing about it. Well, we know that there is going to be a new type of minibus that is going to run on electricity alone – meaning you’ll be able to transport people on the road and not consume a single drop of gasoline, but it remains to be seen whether this is indeed the case with the latest announcement, or that it will even be named as such.
After all, Tesla is not exactly open about their naming strategy, and like to keep this mysterious vibe until the very end. Keep in mind that the electric minibus should be at least a year away and that Model Y is therefore a lot more suitable candidate for this announcement. In any case, this is supposed to be either an SUV called Model Y or the EV pickup. As for what this will be, we will simply have to wait until Monday to find out.
There is no Model Y to speak of, and as far as we know, there may never be one. However, if this is indeed Model Y that is being unveiled, we can expect it to begin selling as early as next year.
Tesla Model Y Suv Price
Again, since we do not know what kind of vehicle is going to be unveiled, there is no way we can realistically talk about the price tag. Besides, there is nothing like this out there so we do not even have a basis for comparison to base a guess on, either.
This means the price could be anything, and the only thing certain is that whatever comes out on Monday will not be cheap. Still, the price tag for Model Y, when and if it appears, will likely be higher than the current Model 3.
Since it is supposed to be an SUV, we can actually make a few predictions regarding the exterior of the Model Y compact SUV.
There are rumors that the architecture will be loosely based on the Model 3, with several elements form Model X. Of course, the gull-wing doors are a bit much and even Elon Musk must have seen it by now.
Interior of Tesla Model Y Suv
There is absolutely nothing to be said about the interior of the Model Y SUV that has not even been confirmed to exist. Comfy interior, seating for four or five passengers, latest gadgets and infotainment are the tip of the iceberg.
You’ve got to be kidding, right? Not touching this with a 10-foot pole. We’ll just have to wait and see.
