There is little known about the 2018 Mercedes GLS, apart from the rumors that this version is going to feature a redesign. However, it is still unclear whether these changes will be purely cosmetic or if there are going to be additions in the engine department as well. In any case, what we have on this vehicle should prove interesting for now.
Release Date of Mercedes GLS 2018
The release date has yet to be determined for the 2018 Mercedes GLS. However, based on earlier models, we can estimate that the probable release date is either in late 2017 or early 2018.
2018 Mercedes GLS Price
The price tag on the 2018 Mercedes GLS is going to depend on a lot of features, including the level of additional equipment, the engine selection as well as fees and shipping costs.Having said that, $65,000 sounds pretty realistic, all things considered.
The exterior of the 2018 Mercedes GLS is still largely unknown, although we have seen some visual cues and they tell us a story of an elegant and powerful design, with a new set of bumpers giving it a more aggressive design as well as several air intakes on the sides.
The grille now looks much sharper, and the headlights and taillights now consist of slightly different clusters complete with LED technology.
The redesigned bodyline has enabled superior aerodynamic properties and in combination with new, lighter materials, this should provide for superior handling performances and increased fuel efficiency.
Interior of Mercedes GLS
Mercedes has never been a pushover when it comes to the interior, and the 2018 GLS is no exception. We are talking about finest Nappa leather covering the interior as well as the signature three-spoke steering wheel and a huge chunk of controls have been forwarded to the touchpad.
Being able to control all non-driving related stuff from a single source is a huge benefit, plus it frees up a lot of dashboard space. There is even an air ionization system, because why not?
Connectivity is covered by a whole system consisting of an 8-inch display, there is a standard service package complete with automatic emergency calls, an Accident Recovery system as well as numerous other services.
You can even assess the state of your windows, the pressure in your tires, your mileage etc. and all that by remote.
Mercedes GLS Engine
The 2018 Mercedes GLS is not going to reveal its secrets just yet, so rumors are all we have to go on when it comes to its drivetrain. The start should be a 3.0 L V6 with 371 hp and 372 lb-ft of torque, both at 1,800 rpm.
It should be able to hit 60 mph in roughly 7 seconds, which is not too shabby. The top speed is 155 mph, and as for stronger engines, there are rumors about a turbocharged V8 and its 460 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque, but these are still unconfirmed. 4-wheel drive is possible and 7-speed automatic transmission is the norm. More on this as information become available.
