It is official! The 5-series BMW GT is getting a name change, along with the exterior redesign (rather than refreshment). Mixing a new name with different styling, the aim of making this car more individual, more lifted back, more powerful was to replace the poor-selling series 6 Gran Coupe and to distance from 5 series Saloon and Touring. The vehicle was spotted on-route to durability testing heavily covered with camouflage that often indicates major changes in both exterior and interior.
2018 BMW 6 Series GT Price
Even though there are no official information regarding the price of the new 2018 BMW series 6 GT vehicle, it will certainly be more expensive than previous model.
According to some of the information available, the price for the current GT starts at around $47.705, but turbulences on the market could upraise starting price of more than $50,206 for the 6 Series GT.
Selling alongside the current version of 6-series coupe, sedan and convertible, it is expected for BMW-series GT to hit the market until the end of 2017, as a 2018 model.
Exterior of BMW 6 Series GT
All the variations of the BMW 6 collection are expected to be improved. On Series 6 GT model, despite camouflage, recognizable kidney-looking grille is visible and it is much alike the one on the Series 5 model, and so is the rear with taillights only slightly positioned higher than on its predecessor.
However, this model is more of a sleek-looking, with sporty character lines across the side of the car, but without losing the luxurious impression.
To achieve more aero-dynamic look and side profile of the car, the roof line is sloped towards the back. When unveiled, this car is expected to appear more opulent, bolder and vicious thanks to sharp lines of the car body.
Furthermore, phenomenal adjustments announced for this car, besides the name change and exterior redesign, are switching to the CLAR architecture and riding on an entirely different platform- dubbed OKL which can be found on the new Series 7. This is supposed to shed the car’s weight for 250 kilos more or less. Lightweight materials enhance both efficiency and performance of this Bavarian stallion.
In line with its widely known reputation, BMW with this car maintains a comfortable, spacious cabin. The interior remains luxurious and oh-so-ever classy, but with more striking, bolder, eye catching details.
Free-standing LCD display and numerous premium features, until now included in the higher-end model offers, are expected to be available for this car also. All kinds of seat adjustments, both front and back, are available to provide enough room for legs and head.
