Good news for all those Acura fans out there, as the 2018 Acura RLX has been confirmed and is expected to be released in the near future. The RLX series is one of the more loved within the brand, so naturally there are loads of rumors and unconfirmed speculations regarding what the car will look like as well as all the changes that are expected. And changes are exactly what people at Acura have in mind.
2018 Acura RLX Release Date
Price for Acura RLX 2018
The price tag for the 2018 Acura has not been published yet, although the earlier models went for roughly $50,000 for the base version or $60,000 for the hybrid, even though the latter has yet to be confirmed.
Acura RLX Exterior
Since this is the 2018 model we are talking about here, the exact look of the car both from within and from the outside is still under a veil of mystery.
Rumors mention a number of changes that are going to make the new Acura RLX model 2018 even more aggressive and aesthetically appealing. It is most certainly looking at a new pair of LED headlights and front and rear bumpers.
This does not mean every single piece is going to be brand new, as Acura is not planning to reinvent the wheel, so to speak. Still, the new materials as well as the color selection are going to make for an interesting choice, once the car hits the showrooms.
Interior of Acura RLX
The inside of the 2018 Acura RLX is very much unknown at this point, although it is fair to assume the quality will be at least on par with earlier models. This means lots of leather for the upholstery and a lot of class that goes with it. Why? Because it won’t be cheap leather.
That means it will look and feel better, except when paying for it at the dealership office. The safety features are likely to be improved as well, but the biggest change should be in terms of infotainment and connectivity.
There are plenty of cool new features in the making, but we better wait for official announcements so we don’t get anyone’s hopes up prematurely.
So far, there is little to say about the power behind the 2018 Acura RLX. There are talks about a 3.5 L V6 with 300+ hp, 270+ lb-ft of torque and a 6-speed automatic transmission, but these are just that – rumors.
Speaking of which, the fuel efficiency is bound to improve from the earlier models, especially after the hybrid version appears. However, the exact specs of that engine are even more of a mystery than the base version.
The old one had 380 hp and just as many lb-ft of torque and a solid fuel efficiency, so we could rightfully expect some improvement on this front as well.
