The 2017 Ram 3500 Laramie stands at the top of the line of trucks as offered by this company. Here is what they have to offer. Of course, its weight and class define it as a truck but there is more to it than meets the eye.
2017 Ram 3500 Laramie Release Date and Price
It should be released by the end of the year. The 3500 Laramie stats at $55,000 and can go up to $70,000 or beyond.
The new X-style grille is not the only exterior update of the 2017 Ram 3500 Laramie, but it certainly is the most obvious one.
Keep in mind that this is still essentially the same truck as the rest of the lineup, albeit modified with a certain set of parameters and customers in mind.
This version also has the most distinctive trims of the lot, which is unsurprising considering its price and place at the very top of the lineup. There is lots of chrome instead of steel and plastic on other models, but this is charged extra.
After all is said and done, this truck is meant to haul heavy stuff, not to race or impress the ladies, although it can still get the job done, and leave an impression, if you catch our drift.
The maximum the wheels go is 20 inches and chromed, but this is also optional. The 17-inch version are the norm.
Interior of Ram 3500 Laramie
The 2017 Ram 3500 Laramie offers some interesting cabin options, complete with black leather throughout the interior, wrapped around anything that could possibly hold it.
The rest is genuine wood, and there are plenty of badges in order to justify the price and class. The new console offers additional space for cups, cell phones and tablets, complete with connected drivers. There is a wide selection of carpets that can be matched to any needs you might have.
Unfortunately, the standard 8.4-inch touchscreen and its Uconnect system are the same as on other vehicles, but at least there is the option to choose the larger driver information display instead of the old 3.5-inch variant.
Of course, depending on the type of cabin you have selected, you can specialize in passengers with ample legroom and amenities, cargo with a specific seating and bed, or just stick to the base version.
Needless to say, if the 2017 Ram 3500 Laramie is to spearhead the heavy class of Ram trucks, it better have the muscle to show for it.
And the source of power is the 6.7 L Cummins with 390 hp @ 2,800 rpm and an astounding 900+ lb-ft of torque, @ 1,700 rpm, but this only comes with the Aisin AS69RC 6-speed automatic transmission. Other types are slightly less effective, but they still offer a lot of power.
There is the manual transmission to consider, and you would be hard-pressed to find this on other new trucks, especially in the U.S.
While offering the lowest power output at 350 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque, it is perfect for pulling stuff at low speeds. The 6.4 L Hemi V-8 gasoline engine with 410 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque is also available.
