There is nothing wrong with driving a Buick, even though it is not exactly a luxury car, but the new 2017 Buick LaCrosse comes with enough equipment to make you let that fact slip off your mind – or anyone else’s. With its share of the market safe and secure, Buick could focus on making the kind of cars they want to make and let the connoisseurs take care of the rest. The 2017 LaCrosse will make you feel right at home even next to other, fancier cars and their drivers.
Release Date of Buick LaCrosse
The release date of 2017 Buick LaCrosse is sometimes in the summer of 2016, but even that is still a rumor as there have been no official statements at this time.
Price for Buick LaCrosse 2017
As for the price, no information could be found; 2017 Buick LaCrosse should cost roughly the same as the previous version, but since they announced loads of new technology, its price might get reexamined. As for the availability, no markets have been confirmed at this point.
2017 Buick LaCrosse Exterior
On the outside, the 2017 Buick LaCrosse looks awfully similar to the Avenir that we saw last January, including the badge and the grille, so they haven’t made that much effort in making it unique as we were initially led to believe.
Furthermore, this badge/grille combo might become the standard when it comes to Buick rides. From both front and read, the 2017 LaCrosse appears wider and longer than it actually is, with strong lines that give it the ‘muscle’ look that we all like.
Well, if you measured it and compared to the previous model, you’d find that it is slightly bigger, and that almost all measures have been slightly changed.
Sometimes it’s for the better, like the extra indoor space due to a wider wheelbase, sometimes it’s not. This Buick features new LED lamps in the back and HID headlights in the front. The grille has active shutters that give it slightly more speed because the aerodynamics is better.
Buick LaCrosse Interior
The inside of the 2017 LaCrosse looks bigger and completely redesigned. The dashboard has a new shape, and the door panels look heavier. The steering wheel has also been updated. Instead of a manual transmission, the switch to an automatic left some extra storage space.
The lighting is softer and more appealing, too. Another nice feature is the noise cancellation technology, a gift that keeps on giving. The doors are sealed, the glass has better acoustic properties, and even the wipers hide below the hood and don’t make that squeaky noise. All these features typically add weight, but thanks to the new materials, the 2017 LaCrosse is actually lighter than ever, by some 150 kg.
This also translates to better handling and lower fuel consumption. The infotainment system has also been upgraded with a better processor and works with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is a nice feature.
2017 Buick LaCrosse Engine and Transmission
Under the hood, the 2017 LaCrosse features a new engine. A 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine is the only one on offer, but with its 305 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque, why would you want anything else? It features either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, controlled by an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The engine comes with advanced stop-start and cylinder deactivation technologies that keep the fuel consumption even lower.
