The Alfa Romeo 4C has been originally released back in 2013 and since then it has been available around the World, being the first model from the Italian manufacturer available for sale on the US market for a really long time.
While the car is not exactly cheap, costing more than $55,000 in the base trim level, it offers one of the most exciting chassis out there and its engine, while not really powerful, being one of the better ones in its class.
Some of its rivals such as the Cayman are a bit more refined but the Alfa 4C manages to be the one offering the most analogue driving experience on the market with a nearly perfectly balanced chassis.
While it still is a rather new car, some rumors are suggesting that a new 2017 Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe might be released in the near future, most likely by the end of the year. The new model would get some improvements to its running gear and interior quality and it would make for a more nicer car to drive all around.
Some of the buyers of the current model said that the non-assisted steering rack or the lack of interior insulation is not really needed to make the car nice to drive and in order to meet their demands, Alfa might release a better equipped version of the 4C with a hydraulically power-assisted steering column, slightly better insulation, better seats as well as a nicer engine.

All of these will certainly come at a higher price with an expected starting point of around $65,000 which will bring it a lot closer to the Cayman than before.

Inside the cabin, the new 4C is likely going to receive a new dashboard with slightly more amenities than before as well as a better styled interior.
The seats will provide a more comfortable ride than before while being just as light and as standard the car should now come with satellite navigation, a better infotainment system with phone-mirroring technology as well as slightly better materials on the dashboard, seats and door covers.
Engine of 2017 Alfa Romeo 4C
Under the rear deck-lid, the 2017 Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe is expected to ditch its current 1.75 liter inline 4 petrol engine in the favor of an all new powertrain. While this is still reasonably powerful, it is quite old and can’t really match the smoothness of its newer siblings.
In its place, Alfa is expected to install an all aluminum 2 liter turbocharged inline 4 unit which will also be found on the new Giulia. This engine will make over 270 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque which is a more than 40 horsepower and 50 lb-ft of torque increase.
While this seems like a major improvement, the car will be similarly fast to the ongoing model and that’s because it is expected to gain around 150 to 200 pounds from the extra features added to the car. The 0 to 60 MPH time will still be around 4,5 seconds while its top speed will now be slightly higher due to the change of the gearbox’s ratios.
The brakes as well as most of the running gear and powertrain are going to remain identical to the current model which is to be expected considering the 2017 car will just be a refresh aimed to make it easier to drive and more comfortable during long trips.
