Jaguar is one of the well known manufacturers of sports cars in the World and they always managed to get a good impression on their buyers. However, even though their cars are just as good as those from BMW or Mercedes, they never really managed to take a hit to the top spot on the market because they didn’t have any mass produced models. However, this changed a few months ago with the release of the small XE sedan and it will still change with the release of the 2016 Jaguar F-Pace, the first ever crossover made by Jaguar.
2016 Jaguar F-Pace Review
While at first it was just a concept car released back in 2013, Jaguar is going to finally make it and it seems that this new model is going to be based on the same modular platform as that found in the new XE sedan, meaning that the F-Pace will be quite small in terms of size.
Its main competitors are going to be the new Macan from Porsche as well as the X3 from BMW. However, unlike these two, the Jaguar is going to cost less at nearly $40,000 which is quite a great price for a Jaguar model.
Even though this will be the first time for them making an SUV, thankfully Land Rover is part of the same group, so the F-Pace will get the same great all wheel drive system found on the other SUVs in the range. This should allow it to go pretty much anywhere and thanks to their 9 speed automatic transmission, the power is going to be sent to the ground quite efficiently.
Engine of Jaguar F-Pace 2016
In terms of engine, the 2016 Jaguar F-Pace will get the 2 liter Ingenium engines on the base model while a sportier version with a 3 liter supercharged V6 might only be available in the US. In any case, all of them are going to be able to make it feel quite fast with a 0 to 60 MPH time that will be better than 7 seconds and a top speed of over 130 MPH, making it a true Jaguar, both in feel and performance.
Unfortunately we don’t have too many details on its exterior or even interior but considering the platform it will be based on and the fact that a concept car has already been released, we expect it to share quite a few parts with the car released back in 2013, such as a similar front end as well as a similar general shape.
On the interior on the other hand the F-Pace will very likely carry over most of the elements from the XE sedan considering both of them are part of the same family and are similar in pricing as well.
