2016 Hyundai Santa Fe is a third row family crossover. One of the biggest vehicles in Hyundai United States line up, that is made to compete with Honda Pilot, Chevrolet Traverse and Toyota Highlander. It got all the goodies, comfort and space third row crossovers usually come with. Some of these are the large cargo area, all wheel drive etc.
2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Review
This vehicle improves every year and it already defeated Honda Pilot when it comes to exterior styling, with introduction of much more lively exterior package with numerous curves, cues and character lines.
Online reviewers like to say that this vehicle is a nightmare for its competition, similar to all other Hyundai in United States, since this brand is hardly trying to establish itself on the market.
Exterior of Hyundai Santa Fe
Exterior styling of this crossover was brought to perfection and it really makes it to stand out from the third row SUV crowd. It comes with extended wheelbase comparing to other Hyundai vehicles based on the same platform.
Regular version comes with the rear side window kick up, unlike Santa Fe Sport that comes with even longer wheelbase and without these window kicks. Side mirrors and bumpers are made in body color in every trim level available.
Higher trim levels come with roof rails, integrated for lights and bigger 19 inch alloy wheels. Base level trim called the GLS also comes with alloy aluminum wheels, but they are one inch smaller than the ones on the upscale Limited trim level.
Hyundai Santa Fe 2016 Interior
Interior of the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe comes with great functionality and design excellence. Windshield offers panoramic view to the drivers, and although the back window is much smaller it certainly comes with the view that’s good enough for drivers to use it, and not to rely only on mirrors.
Base version comes with audio system and automatic climate control which have very functional and driving friendly knobs placed near the steering wheel. It also comes with stain resistant cloth upholstery, which although looks a little bit cheap has enough quality to compete with different base level upholstery in this class.
When it comes to space, first two rows are big enough to fit adults and make them feel comfortable, while the third row is made for kids only. New Santa Fe also comes with relatively big cargo area, at least for its class.
Hyundai Santa Fe Engine
This vehicle comes with only one engine and transmission option. It is the naturally aspired 3,3 liter V6 engine that comes with 290 horsepower and 252 pound feet of torque.
It can tow 5,000 pounds and its fuel economy goes from 18 mpg in the city conditions to 25 mpg on the highway with front wheel drive and one mpg less in the highway conditions if using all wheel drive that’s also an option if buying this vehicle. Its engine is paired with six speed automatic transmission only.
