The M Division is well know for transforming the normal family cars from BMW in track ready cars which not only drive better but that are also more powerful as well as better driver’s cars. The latest 2016 BMW M4 GTS is a street-legal water-injected track monster and one of the tech wonders of today, offering for just over 65.000 dollars one of the best driving packages on the market. However, for some people it just isn’t enough so there is going to be an even more hardcore version of it, the 2016 BMW M4 GTS, a track ready car which can be driven on the open roads.
2016 BMW M4 GTS Review
While BMW kept it quite so far, there have been a few spy pictures of a model caught testing in Scandinavia which shows a slightly camouflaged M4 with a fixed wing and a different front bumper. As far as we know, the car will also get a few other improvements which we are going to talk next.
BMW M4 GTS Release date and price
The release date should be in the early 2016 while the base price for the new GTS could hit almost $100,000, making it a lot more expensive than the usual car. However, for this price the car is going to be ready to race with just a few tweaks, so it might just be worth it.
Engine of BMW M4 GTS 2016
Engine wise, the M Division is going to upgrade the current 3 liter turbocharged engine from 425 horsepower and 403 lb-ft of torque to more than 470 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to this changes and the improved 6 speed manual, the car should be able to hit 60 MPH in less than 3.7 seconds and hit a maximum top speed of around 170 MPH which has been restricted due to the extra downforce provided by the new wing.
However, the engine is not going to be the only upgrade. The car’s chassis will go through a massive update which is going to stiffen it, make it lighter and it will also allow the driver to adjust it. Thanks to the extra carbon fiber on the car, the total weight should go down by at least 150 pounds which is quite a big deal for a small coupe.
Interior of BMW M4 GTS
On the interior things are going to be kept as stock as possible but both the steering wheel and the seats are going to be changed with lighter versions. On top of that, the rear seats are going to be removed and replaced with a roll-bar which will further stiffen the car. The general equipment level should be on par with that of a normal BMW M4.
2016 BMW M4 Exterior
Its exterior on the other hand will receive a new pair of wheels, the brand new laser headlights which will allow the usage of high beam pretty much anywhere as well as the new OLED tail lights which are going to use less power than before.
